Krokmitën is an experimental Death Metal band from Montréal.
[pronounced croc-me-ten] Def: Cajun phonetic spelling of the french word "croque-mitaine". A shapeless imaginary being used by adults to frighten children into behaving.

Syn; Boogeyman, Bonhomme sept-heures, El coco, El ogro, Böögg, Monstret under sängen, Der schwarze Mann, Bicho Papão, Mörkö, Alploochra, Antchoutka, Bouloulou, Namahage...

Krokmitën is an experimental Death Metal band from Montréal founded in 1991. After two demos and years of local gigs, we took a lengthy hiatus in 1995 to concentrate on our respective careers. In 2011, we released "Alpha-Beta"; an ambitious multimedia project, 46-minute track with animation synched to the music. In may 2012, we released "BWV565 Redux", our take on Johann Sebastian Bach's organ piece "Toccata & Fugue in D minor, BWV 565". In November 2012, original drummer Mathz is replaced with Lupiaan, a long-time friend of the band. Work is in progress for the 2nd full-length album, entitled "Omicron-Omega"...
